The closest place you can get a true traditional experience.
This country is amazing in every way.
The Berba people are very kind and love the right kind of visitor coming to there country. We make sure that we understand the people we visit, this is done through using local guides to help us give you a true experience of a truly amazing country.
We have the following kinds of trip to this country:
Day 1: Fly from a location of your choice to Marrakech the capital city of the country where our UK guide will meet you and take you to a very good traditional Riad. You will then have time to visit the market place in the city. The 1st evening will involve meeting everyone and giving you a full brief for the experience you are about to get.
Day 2: we will make our way in a relaxed fashion from Marrakech to the mountains of Imilil where we meet up with the local village guide at again a very nice Riad. Our local guide will give us a walking talk of the village and explain their way of life. We will eat local traditional food and drink lots of traditional tea.
Day 3: we make our way from Imilil to the mountain refuge of Netner, there is the option to have the donkey carry your equipment up the trail which means you have a nice relaxed walk up. There are some mega views and great villages such as Sidi Armouch on the way up the valley. We then arrive at the refuge and have a nice relaxed evening.
Day 4: will be an acclimatization day for the team. From the Netner refuge we will walk into the mountains and hope to summit one of the smaller peaks. For those of you that have not walked in snow with the winter mountaineering kit our staff will show and teach you the best way to do this. When I personally first visited this country it was so weird to go from sandy desert like areas to snow in the same day. Back to the refuge for the night.
Day 5: will be summit day of Mt Toukball we hope. Unlike the mountains of the Alps we do not have to do a 3 am start, we can leave the refuge and make our way in a relaxed way up the mountain to the summit of Mt Toukball at over 4100 meters. A few good summit photos and then in our own time we can make our way down. And time allowing we hope to make it to the village and stay in a luxuary Riad to relax and have the comforts we love.
Day 6: we make our way back to the capital Marrakech through Imilil and Sidi Armouch after a lay in and a relaxed breakfast. Time to shop and enjoy the city. This day could also be used as an extra day in the mountains if the weather is not on our side.
Day 7: we have found a number of great days out in Marrakech. From rafting, kayaking, a tour of the area and much more, the choice is yours. In the evening we will have a last meal in the country and speak about the experience we have had of this country.
Day 8: will be wake up and depart Marrakech for the UK.
