Indoor climbing
Summer or winter these purpose built locations are the ideal place to learn how to climb. They are dry warm and safe. There are walls based all over the country where we can take you to climb and show you how it is done.
Starter climbing
Touch the rock for the 1st time outdoors.
We will supply all the equipment and you will be show by experienced enthusiastic climbers.
Learn the basic skills of movement on rock, balance and body position that are all vital to success.
We will help you discover these and bring out the confidence for you to achieve the top. Easy climbs, good fun and amazing views are possible. You will also learn the skill of protecting your partner with belaying.
At the end of this course we would hope you have the bug to go and try some more climbs.
Improver If you've been before, this could be for you. We will work on those skills you have and show you how to develop them in order to make the climbs more fun and easy, with plenty of routes to test the new skill. Advice is available on equipment and venues near to you if you're interested in taking it up!
Crag MasterFor those who have found a keen interest in climbing and want to take it further. With our keen experienced staff, we will teach you the skills needed to go climbing on your own, safely. We will cover Crag selection, Route selection (guide books), Equipment choice, Rope management, Belaying techniques.
By the end of this course you should be ready to go out climbing on your own.
LeaderHaving done the crag master course or gained experience somewhere else, we will build on this experience. The course can be run in North Wales, The Peak District, or Pembrokeshire; all these sites are top climbing areas. You will learn how to place kit for protection, clip the gear, advanced rope work, and best set ups for the situation.
This level of the sport allows the climber to enter places very few people go to. You can climb as high as the mountain or cliff allows you to.
Coaching/governing body awardsLearn to teach others how to climb by gaining the first step on the award ladder. SPA signal pitch award - allows you to teach beginner climbing on single pitch crags.
WHEN YOU GET TO THE TOP YOU REALISE "WHAT GOES UP MUST COME DOWN!"
Abseiling is the quick, safe and easy way to get down! It is a method used to get to the floor of the crag fast and safely. It involves descending the rope using a device called a figure of eight together with the use of a safety rope and can be very good fun.
